Cortislim
0.0Cortislim is a popular diet supplement that helps people lose weight quickly. Cortislim works to combat levels of cortisol in the body, reducing stored fat and weight gain.
What is Cortisol?
Cortisol is a hormone, often referred to as the “stress hormone,” that impacts the body’s “fight or flight” response to events. Cortisol is necessary for human body functioning, as it is released at higher amounts when under physical or psychological threats, providing the body with more energy. However, if a person experiences chronic stress, then cortisol levels remain consistently high, which can be potentially damaging in various ways, including causing weight gain and increased stored fat.
How Does Cortislim Work?
Cortislim’s ingredients work to control the release of cortisol. When combined with a healthy diet, Cortislim claims to boost weight loss. The primary key ingredients are intended to calm the body’s response to various forms of stress, which include:
- Vitamin C and calcium
- Chromium and Vanadium
- An herbal mixture of green tea extract, bitter orange peel extract, magnolia bark extract, theanine, and betasitosterol
Cortislim’s ingredients work to burn fat and lower cortisol levels. Specifically, green tea extract is proven to increase metabolism, balance blood sugar levels, while providing users with antioxidant benefits. Furthermore, betasitosterol is believed to reduce cholesterol levels.
Potential Problems with Cortislim:
While Cortislim works to regulate cortisol levels, there is currently no scientifically validated studies about the effectiveness of Cortislim and stress relief or body fat loss. Recently, the FTC ordered Cortislim to prohibit advertising the product as providing consumers with weight loss benefits.
In addition, there is currently a law suit from dissatisfied customers, pending against Cortislim, who assert that the claims made by the company’s manufacturers are misleading and false.
Potential Side Effects:
While Cortislim has not undergone substantial clinical trials, potential side effects are based on information from stimulants in various clinical studies. Based on stimulant information, Cortislim may or may not cause:
- Insomnia and/or sleeplessness
- Nervousness and/or increased heart rate
- Restlessness
- Indigestion or heartburn
- Shakiness, jitteriness, and/or tremors
- Increased urination.
However, Cortislim also offers a product called Cortislim Control, which does not contain any stimulants. The active ingredient in Cortislim Control is a natural vegetable fiber, called glucomannan. Ingesting fiber, such as glucomannan, often results in the following side effects:
- Abdominal / stomach cramping or pain
- Nausea
- Bloating
- Diarrhea
Does Cortislim Work?
Consumers debate over the effectiveness of Cortislim. Some report both reduced stress and increased weight loss, while others argue that they received no weight loss benefits from the supplement. Ultimately, if cortisol does impact the body’s response to weight gain, then there are still alternatives to reducing stress that do not involve the aid of a pill or supplement. Since the clinical trials of Cortislim are so limited, many consumers are waiting until more scientifically supported independent trails are undergone before continuing and/or starting a Cortislim diet plan.
